Well, Kazakhstan — and its endless arid steppes, brutal deserts, and towering snow‑capped peaks. The place feels out-of-the-worldly and enormous, as it is! It’s the ninth‑largest country, home to the planet’s biggest dry steppe — 804,450 km², almost 40% of the land. But I skipped the stats and went hunting for the good stuff: rugged mountains, icy lakes, and ancient canyons.
